Arkansas Plant Board Votes to Ban Herbicide Dicamba

In a 9 to 5 vote, the Arkansas Plant Board today voted to ban the use of dicamba in crops and increase civil penalties for misuse of the herbicide. The emergency measure will require approval from both the Governer and the Executive Subcommittee of the Arkansas Legislative Council before it is enforceable. According to the Plant Board, the highest number of reported cases for dicamba misuse in 2017 occured in Craighead, Poinsett, Mississippi, and Crittenden Counties.
