John Peiserich's practice focuses on Environmental and Oil & Gas law. His Oil & Gas practice includes title examination and drafting of Oil & Gas related agreements including operating and participation agreements, farm-outs, and agreements relating to development and marketing.  His Oil & Gas practice has extended to the formation of related business entities, commercial transactions and contract negotiations all related to upstream and midstream asset management and involving single transactions valued at over 4.5 Billion Dollars.  From the initial stages of land and mineral estate acquisition involving title examination, due diligence, permitting, and exploration, through feasibility studies, site development, financing, and the management of operation of an active Oil & Gas play, Mr. Peiserich directs work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide clients with an entire range of legal services related to Oil & Gas development.

Upon the discovery of natural gas and condensate in the Western Idaho Basin, Mr. Peiserich was retained to assist in the drafting and passage of Oil & Gas Regulations for the State of Idaho.  Mr. Peiserich represented the interests of Industry, directed the necessary lobbying to ensure bill passage, and provided expert testimony to both the House and Senate related to Rulemaking and Legislation.  Key among the legislation was the elimination of local control over Oil & Gas related activities.  The project was a success with modernized rules and regulations being enacted and signed by Governor Butch Otter in March 2012.  Over the last several years, Mr. Peiserich has worked in numerous states on legislative and regulatory issues related to the Oil & Gas industry including Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, California, and others.
